We’ve spent the past few weeks getting to know the Rockstars that lead all of uforia’s amazing classes. This week, let’s get to know the ladies who keep things running behind the scenes – the uforia Concierge Team! You’ve seen their smiling faces greeting you when you walk into the studio, so be sure to say hi!
Fiona – Lead Concierge: A Palo Alto native, Fiona first came to uforia in the summer of 2011 after she graduated from Princeton University. She fell in love with the amazing classes and strong community, and knew she’d found a truly special place when she found herself missing uforia while reading the newsletter from 10,000 miles away while she lived and worked in Singapore. When she moved home from Singapore a year ago, she immediately applied to join the Concierge team. Even when she isn’t working at uforia, you’ll probably find her at the studio taking classes. She’s especially fond of woo-ing in David’s Revolutions classes and sweating it out in any of Lissy’s classes. She also loves to start her Tuesdays and Thursdays with the new double-whammy of Raquel’s Revolutions class followed by Lauren’s GRIT class. So much pre-8 a.m. productivity! During the day, Fiona works as the Marketing and Community Engagement coordinator at Lumo BodyTech, a Palo Alto-based health and fitness startup. She is also the Lead Concierge at uforia and works on our blog and social media.
Sara is a true Bay Area local – she went to Oak Knoll, Hillview, and Menlo-Atherton High School and is now a sophomore at Stanford. uforia is a family affair for Sara and her family, so you’ll often find her rocking out in Revolutions with her mom and sister. Sara played soccer in high school and once she got to college, she found herself missing the team atmosphere, so she’s happy to have found that again at uforia. When she isn’t at uforia, Sara is on the salsa dancing team at Stanford and loves to travel. You can also find her at her favorite local restaurants, includes Café Borrone, Coupa, Darbar, and Philz.
Grace was first introduced to uforia because her roommate, Fiona, talked about it incessantly. She’s thrilled to now be part of the uforia community too! She loves the warm, friendly atmosphere and is a huge fan of Chrissy’s GRIT class – Chrissy makes Grace work her butt with incessant lunges and makes her triceps burn! When she isn’t at uforia, Grace is an undergraduate admissions officer at Stanford and you can often find her exploring the local restaurant scene. She highly recommends the coconut shrimp at Coconuts on Ramona and the ice cream sandwiches at CREAM. Maybe not the healthiest post-workout snack, but hey, life is all about balance, right??
Erin: Born and raised in San Mateo, Erin is proud of her Bay Area roots. After discovering uforia online over a year ago, Erin came to a revolutions class and was hooked! Now, her favorite way to sweat is with a GRIT/Revolutions combo because she notices immediate changes in her muscle tone. Although she’s crazy busy running after her two adorable sons, working at a local property management and development company, and giving back to the community through volunteer work, Erin still finds time for us at uforia. Wow!
Sabine grew up in the Bay Area and is now studying English and German at Santa Clara University. If you’ve missed seeing her around the studio recently, that’s because she just got back from a semester abroad in Germany! We’re very happy to have her back. Like Sara, Sabine first came to uforia with her mom and her sister. Her first class was Revolutions with Alissia and it single handily ‘revolutionized’ her work out mindset—she was immediately hooked! Alissia’s Revolutions class remains her favorite class, especially when she plays Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” on a climb. Sabine loves getting lost in the awesome music of uforia classes and leaving all thoughts and workout-related qualms behind.
Lindsay, the newest member of our Concierge Team, grew up in San Jose and is now a sophomore at Stanford. She was first introduced to uforia through her friend Sara and she loves the positive atmosphere and community full of people who are genuinely excited to be here. Although she doesn’t play favorites when it comes to our Rockstars (and who would? They’re all incredible!), Lindsay’s favorite classes are Revolutions and GRIT because they’re super challenging and work all of her muscles. She admits to being sore for a solid 4 days after her first GRIT class…don’t worry, we’ve all been there! When she isn’t working at uforia or studying for her American Studies major, Linday volunteers for Coaching Corps, loves to play soccer, and is an avid reader.
