Day in the Life of an EtS Captain: Bailey

Embrace the Sweat 2018 is almost done, but that doesn’t mean it’s over! Both studios have packed weekend schedules, and all team members are ready to push it to the limit to get those last points on the board. Whether you’re like Nob Hill’s Pink Team member, Arin Vallencort who has taken over 20 classes in 2 weeks, or just a participant in it for the cause and fun, it’s not over ’till it’s over! Just ask Palo Alto’s Team Red captain and Studio Manager, Bailey. We got a chance to follow her along on a day as a killer motivator and Team Red’s Captain. Read more to find out what she eats, how she manages her team and still finds time to enjoy a few moments throughout her day.

6:00 AM

Time to wake up for ETS Day 4!  How do you like my bed head? I wish I didn’t have to wake up this early because I’m NOT a morning person– I know, it doesn’t make sense since I’m usually at the studio in the early mornings. Have to open up today since I’m training a new member of our Concierge team.

6:30 AM

Time for breakfast! I love to whip up some poached eggs with a little sautéed spinach. It’s so filling, healthy and keeps me fueled for a busy morning.  To make, I sauté several cups of washed organic spinach in a pan with some olive oil and fresh garlic.  I throw in some salt, pepper, and add a splash of apple cider vinegar or fresh lemon juice. Add the poached eggs. Done!

7:00 AM

Another gorgeous day in Palo Alto! Time to take my dog, Nanni, on quick a walk.

7:30 AM

Whipped up a quick wellness tonic to give me a little boost before I leave. Does anyone else love tonics as much as me? Here’s the recipe of the one I made this morning.

Wellness Tonic
Fresh lemon juice of 1 lemon
Dash of cayenne
Dash of tumeric
Organic honey
Warm water
Freshly grated ginger
Drink each morning before (or after ;)) breakfast for a kick of energy, a little boost to your immune system and help with digestion + inflammation.

8:00 AM

Arriving to the studio.  Ready to sweat and get some work done! Let’s do this!

11:00 AM

Just finished training my new concierge, and now heading downstairs to start my meetings. Today is jam packed with HQ meetings, so it’s BUSY! Let the real work begin.

1:00 PM

PHEW! How is it already lunch time? I’m heading to Bare Bowls for a little treat. I LOVE this place and recommend heading there after a class at the studio. You won’t regret it. 😉

3:00 PM

Meetings are done and it’s for an afternoon pick-me-up.  I still have a packed night at the studio for evening classes, so it’s a double shot cappuccino from Coupa Cafe. What I love about about the studio is that it’s within walking distance of Downtown Palo Alto. There’s a ton of options for eats and in this case– coffee!

5:00 PM

Quick selfie with the sweaty and fearless leader of the purple team. We are competitive, but still friends. 😉

6:30 PM

First round of evening classes are done! I love seeing clients walk out with sweaty smiles. Speaking of smiles, it’s time for a #sweatyselfie. Have to get those extra points on the board and show my team spirit! GO RED!

8:00 PM

I’m home from another successful day at the studio, with a little time to squeeze in some yoga. Do you like my partner? Daisy, my cat, wanted to join in.

9:00 PM

Nanni is making an appearance while we enjoy some snuggles and wind down for bed.
